Overview

In order to troubleshoot the pooling file system's activity, you may be asked by technical support to submit a file system trace. Follow the steps below to collect and submit the file system trace data for analysis.

Steps to Collect the Trace Log

  1. Open the StableBit DrivePool 2.X UI using the Start menu.
    • If you are using StableBit DrivePool 2.2.0.595 or newer then you will need to use the StableBit DrivePool (troubleshooting mode) shortcut in the start menu in order to enable troubleshooting mode.
  2. Once StableBit DrivePool opens, click the Settings gear at the top.
  3. Choose Troubleshooting, and check Enable file system logging.
  4. Perform the activity on the pool that is causing the issue.
  5. Once the issue is reproduced, once again, open the Settings gear at the top.
  6. Choose Troubleshooting, and uncheck Enable file system logging.
    • It is important that you perform this step and perform it quickly after reproducing the issue.

Submit Trace

  1. Open %PROGRAMDATA%\StableBit DrivePool in windows Explorer by pasting that path into the Windows Explorer path bar.
  2. Right click on the Service folder and choose Send to > Compressed (zipped) folder.
  3. Submit the resulting Service.zip file to Technical Support for analysis. See: StableBit DrivePool 2.X Submit Files
