Manually uninstalling StableBit DrivePool 2.X.

When to Use

If you are having serious issues with StableBit DrivePool and just resetting the settings doesn't work.

Steps

  1. Follow: Q7200705
  2. Open Device Manager from the Start menu (type it).
  3. If you see Covecube devices, expand it and right click on each item and click Uninstall.
  4. Open the Disk Drives, uninstall the Covecube Virtual Disk device.
    • If you have StableBit CloudDrive installed, DO NOT remove the Covecube CloudDrive Enumerator device.
  5. Open the Storage Controllers, uninstall the Covecube Disk Emulator device.
  6. Open Programs and Features from the Start menu (type it).
  7. Uninstall StableBit DrivePool, if listed.
  8. Reboot the server.
  9. Click Start -> Run. Type regedit.
  10. Locate HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\services\CoveFS and delete it, if found.
  11. Reboot the server.
  12. Delete everything in C:\ProgramData\StableBit DrivePool.
  13. Delete everything in C:\Program Files\StableBit\DrivePool.
  14. Delete everything in %AppData%\StableBit DrivePool.
    • Note: You should type "%AppData%\StableBit DrivePool" into the location bar, or from the Run command (Win+R).
  15. Reboot the computer.

Note that this process does not affect your pooled data. All pooled data will be preserved.
