Manually uninstalling DrivePool.

When to Use

If you can't get DrivePool to uninstall using the Dashboard you can use this as a last resort.

Steps

  1. Follow: Q7200705
  2. Open Programs and Features from the Start menu (type it).
  3. Uninstall StableBit DrivePool, if listed.
  4. Reboot the server.
  5. Open Device Manager from the Start menu (type it).
  6. If you see Covecube devices, expand it and right click on each item and click Uninstall.
  7. Click Start -> Run. Type regedit.
  8. Locate HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\services\CoveFS and delete it, if found.
  9. Reboot the server.
  10. Delete everything in C:\ProgramData\StableBitDrivePool.
  11. Open the Dashboard to the add-ins tab and remove StableBit DrivePool, if listed.

Note that this process does not affect your pooled data. All pooled data will be preserved.

Now you can:

  • Install the latest build of DrivePool from http://stablebit.com.
  • Open the Dashboard to the StableBit DrivePool tab and make sure that you're not being prompted for a license.
