Manually uninstalling the StableBit Scanner.

When to Use

If you can't get the StableBit Scanner to uninstall using the Dashboard you can use this as a last resort.

Steps

  1. Follow: Q7200705
  2. Open Programs and Features from the Start menu (type it).
  3. Uninstall StableBit Scanner, if listed.
  4. Open the Dashboard to the add-ins tab and remove StableBit Scanner, if listed.
  5. Delete everything in C:\ProgramData\StableBit Scannner.
    • Note: This is ProgramData and not Program Files.
  6. Delete everything in C:\Program Files (x86)\StableBit\Scanner.
  7. Delete C:\Program Files\Windows Server\Bin\Addins\Primary\StableBitScanner.addin.

Now you can:

  • Install the latest build of the StableBit Scanner from http://stablebit.com/Scanner.
  • Open the Dashboard to the StableBit Scanner tab and make sure that you're not being prompted for a license.
